The primary objection I usually hear from creatives when they are starting a business is “Why would anyone need another x, y or z?” The other objection is “Who am I to …?”
The answer to both is simple. No one has your unique perspective, your unique set of experiences, your lessons, and no one will deliver the information in quite the same way as you do.
There are millions of cookbooks, but people always buy more. Knowing what to cook for dinner is a perennial problem and there is always a new cook with a new recipe and a new way of seasoning their delivery.
Work on sharing your unique perspective and authority in a field and you never have to worry about competition.
By identifying what is unique about you and your solution, your Creative Superpower will always be in demand, no matter who else provides a similar solution.
Why is it important to establish yourself as an authority in your field?
By establishing yourself as an authority you are demonstrating a confidence which results from your personal experience. This in turn, gives people the confidence to follow your advice.
