What are your biggest triumphs?
Triumph through adversity hones our skills and tests our mettle.
All learning is theory until put into practice. Our ability to overcome obstacles proves we have what it takes. This validates our skills and experience to ourselves and to others.
By identifying where you have triumphed in the past, you can understand where you can best use your powers to help others in the future.
A triumph is defined as: a significant success or note-worthy achievement.
External Triumphs
There are the moments we understand as triumphant moments because other people notify us that they are.
We might win a competition for example, or get a job and so the email or phone call might start with ‘congratulations’ and this signifies an external triumph.
What recent external triumphs have you celebrated or shared with others? Which triumphs are you most proud of?
Internal Triumphs
There are other noteworthy achievements that we simply share with ourselves. They might not be announced publicly and they can dawn on us slowly.
You might run and walk around your block, for example, and then as you run more, you walk less until eventually you run the whole way. You might not have set it as a goal but when you realise you have done it, it is a feeling of triumph.
You also might take stock of your achievements and not realise there has been a triumph until after the fact.
Spend some time this week reflecting on your past triumphs but also paying attention to the small wins. By noticing where you are overcoming struggles, you will find clues as to where you are best able to serve others.
