What do you truly believe?
‘If you don’t stand for something, you will fall for anything’ – Malcolm X
A belief is the feeling of being certain that something exists or is true with or without empirical evidence.
Another way of defining this is that we display an attitude towards the likelihood of something being true. So even without proof, we make decisions based on our beliefs.
Like values, beliefs can change over time, and are different for each person. Beliefs are contextual and built on trust and experience, not necessarily proof. Humans are conditioned to passionately defend their beliefs, to the point of going to war to prove another group ‘wrong’.
For you to truly exert influence with your Creative Superpower, you must have belief in the ideas that support them. By identifying what you believe, in relation to your Creative Superpower, you can establish trust and confidence in your mission.
Why is it important to understand what we believe?
Understanding your belief system gives further insight for your Creative Superpower. Your beliefs will affect how you interact with others, and how you react to daily events. Your outputs will also impact on the belief systems of others.
Think of your beliefs as the light which guides your Creative Superpower.
Integrity is often viewed as acting and thinking in alignment with your beliefs…
